where we came from...

Established in 2003 from over twenty years of personal experience in architectural interiors especially within the hotel world, Kate Mooney and her award winning team at occa-design have developed a reputation for expertise, style and attention to detail. They are regularly working on stylish hotel projects throughout the UK, Europe and more recently in the UAE.

With a unique and original eye for good design, occa work regularly on some of the world's largest hotel brands and individual boutique style properties, designing everything from fine dining restaurants and bars to swimming pools and spas, as well as gorgeous hotel bedrooms and bathrooms.

Over the years, Kate and her designers have regularly been asked by colleagues, friends and family to give them tips on hotel chic and how to design their own homes or advice on where to buy the stunning products seen in hotels. As professional hotel designers working all over the world, the team at occa have a phenomenal range of products and materials at their finger tips, as well as great ideas on how to use them.

 ...and that’s how www.occa-home.co.uk was born. Kate could see that friends and colleagues were full of enthusiasm for new products and ideas from all the glossy design magazines, but saw them quickly become disappointed and frustrated when they couldn't source the products or when they didn't know how to start to pull a room together.

Subsequently, Kate opened up her studio to share her passion and enjoyment for interior design with everyone, making her years of experience and professional knowledge in both the hotel and residential sectors available to all. She committed to making many of the products and materials that were often only available to the hotel market, easily accessible and has complemented these with an extensive hand picked selection of stunning home wares and interior design products.
