Set of 2 modern iittala Aarne Cordial glasses, with a mouth blown glass shape which originally helped set the trend for essential glassware in the 1950's.
Glass designer and decorative artist Göran Hongell was one of the pioneers of the Finnish glass tradition. With his mouth blown glassware range Aarne, he won the gold medal in 1954 at the Triennale in Milan. A timeless design is the original ethos of the design studio in iittala which has been guided by Scandinavian design heritage, dedication to craftsmanship and visionary designers.

Born in Helsinki, Finland. Artist and glass designer Göran Hongell was one of the pioneers of Finnish glass tradition. Back in the 1930s, he presented a first version of what would become his most famous creation, the hand-blown glass series Aarne. In 1954, he won the gold medal at the Triennale in Milan with Aarne.
