Designer
Founded in 1965, Diamantini & Domeniconi specialised in traditional clocks until 2003 when the company was taken over by Domeniconi’s family. Today the company offers a more contemporary, elegant style using collaborations with young international designers to create innovative design pieces. Pascal Tarabay (1970-) is now Creative Director at Diamantini & Domeniconi and also designer of the Cucu clock. Born in Beirut in 1970, Pascal studied art in Paris before earning a Masters degree in design from the Domus Academy in Milan in 1998. He stayed on at the Academy as a teacher from 1999 until 2002. Having won several prestigious design awards and with pieces in many museums internationally Pascal is a renowned, published designer. He works between Milan and Beirut on a wealth of design and architecture projects in addition to his role at Diamantini & Domeniconi.

Product
As with traditional Cuckoo clocks, the bird comes out of his house and sings every hour. With this clock, happily, he does not sing during the night! Produced in a range of finishes the laser cut detailing is fantastically intricate, casting an equally detailied shadow on the wall behind in a 2D graphic representation of the clock itself. The original version is produced in metal and lacquered in a wide range of colours. Later developments have seen the creation of a stainless steel version, and a wood version available in various timbers.
